PRODUCED BY Suzanne Corso in the Fall
of 2002 in NYC and 2004 in London
Roman Nights was first
performed as a two character play which
SAMCOR produced here in New York City
at the Daryl Roth theatre in the fall
of 2002 and in London in 2004, both accepted
generously. Since then playwright/screenwriter
Franco D’Alessandro has created
the screenplay, which chronicles the intense,
creative and tumultuous friendship that
Tennessee Williams and Anna Magnani shared
for 25 years. The backdrop of this film
is the magical city of Rome in the 1950's
and 1960's during the height of the glamorous
la Dolce Vita era when it was bustling
with great artists and bold-faced names.
"Roman Nights" is a sweeping
story which explores the perils and passions
of artistic genius experienced by writer
and actor. The film captures Broadway
and Hollywood's Golden Age and the allure
and excitement of post war Italy and delivers
an inspirational and illuminating story
that nourishes the mind, heart and soul. |
